She was born in Santa Monica, California on 26 November 1986. She is the child of Vincenzo Barba, her father and Valerie Barba. The family relocated from Point Pleasant, New Jersey when she was 6. Red Bank Catholic High School was where she got the formal education she needed within New Jersey. After that, she went to Catholic University and graduated with an undergraduate degree in architecture. A violinist since age 4"Violingirl" was her name. Due to her talent that she went under the title Violin Girl. Also, she was instrumental teacher to the children of the surrounding area. She also sang Free throughout 1976 when she made her audition to American Idol's sixth season when she was age 19. However, she was removed from the show following her achievement of 16th place.
