Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is well-known for her role in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She earned a B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actress as well as a producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. Her acting career began in the theater. Later, she was a part of several television shows, independent films and mainstream films. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also a number of awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. Her debut on stage in the role of Ariel in The Tempest. She's appeared on Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Film-wise, she's best known for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. On television her regular role in the ABC's crime drama series High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
